President of Epic Capital
Rich Jarvis
From farming to finance, real estate to a U.S. patent holder, Rich Jarvis has demonstrated that success doesn’t come from a lack of challenges but the capacity to deal with them. As Epic Capital Fund’s President, Rich is primely positioned to steer through the ups and downs of the real estate market, especially alongside his colleagues who share his strengths, mindset, and background.
A farm boy from Meridian, Idaho, Rich learned the value of hard work early in life, and the highlight of his childhood was launching his first real business in hauling millions of pounds of hay for local dairy farmers. As Rich got older, his goals got bigger, earning an M.B.A. from Boise State University on a Pathway to Innovation scholarship and obtaining an Executive Leadership certificate from Cornell University. He’s integrated his business ownership and entrepreneurial background with 24 years in management and 13 years in the financial industry as a lender, insurance broker, financial services consultant, and product manager for a fintech company. Even Rich’s pilot experience has taught him fundamental business skills. From a sky-high vantage point, he discovered how to literally and figuratively navigate through any circumstance, make course corrections when necessary, and trust the data.
Rich’s real estate interest piqued when he rented out his first home in 2003. He’s since bolstered his knowledge by reading hundreds of books on business and real estate and working with real estate funds by sourcing and underwriting properties. Rich brings notable distinction to Epic Development, including acquiring $39M in new business, garnering top-ten producer and national recognition within his first full year in his financial services practice, and patenting the Electronic Personal Record, a secure information sharing platform delivering control of data back to the consumer.
Rich doesn’t have to look beyond his family — which consists of his wife, Rebecca, and five beautiful children — for his greatest inspiration. He’s also an avid volunteer, dedicating five to ten hours each week to local church and youth programs, including the YMCA. Rich enjoys waterskiing, cryptocurrency, and triathlons, having competed in five Ironman 70.3 Triathlons and winning second place in his age group.
